The 2024 Oscar nominees have been announced. The 96th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, March 10 with the ceremony being broadcast on ABC. Whether you intend to watch all the nominated films before the ceremony or just want to watch a few of the most notable or the frontrunners, here’s where you can stream this year’s Oscar nominees.
Netflix
If you only want to subscribe to one streaming service to watch Oscar nominees, Netflix is the one. Though no Best Picture nominees are streaming there, the service does have films nominated for acting performances, best animated picture, and more. Its 2024 nominated films are Maestro, Rustin, Nyad, Society of the Snow, Nimona, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, May December, American Symphony, El Conde, The After, and The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar.
Max
While Max does have an overall excellent selection of movies to stream, it’s lacking in the 2024 Oscar nominees department. However, the one film it does have, Barbie, is worth watching. The film, though snubbed in some categories, pulled in multiple nominations including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay, as well as Best Supporting Actor and Actress for Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera, respectively.
Peacock
Peacock is in the same boat as Max. It only houses one of this year’s nominated films, The Holdovers. This film garnered five nominations, though, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Actor and Supporting Actress for Paul Giamatti and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, respectively, both of whom won Golden Globes this year for their performances. It’s a film worth seeing.
Paramount+
Currently Paramount+ only houses three of 2024’s nominated films, two of which are documentaries: The Eternal Memory, The ABCs of Book Banning, and Golda, the last of which requires the Showtime add-on to watch. The service, however, updates its catalog quite often, and with over six weeks left before the ceremony, more could potentially be added before the awards are given.
Hulu
Hulu also houses three films: The Creator, Flamin’ Hot, and The Last Repair Shop. Each of these films was nominated for just one or two awards.
Disney+
Disney+ has a fair showing with Elemental, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Flamin’ Hot (also on Hulu), and Bobi Wine: The People’s President available to stream on the platform.
Apple TV+
Apple TV+ joins Max and Peacock: it only has Killers of the Flower Moon, but it’s a highly-nominated film in major categories like Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Director. Apple TV+ is also a destination to rent films that aren’t yet streaming.
Oscar Nominees Not Yet Streaming
Unfortunately, the large majority of 2024 Oscar nominees are not currently streaming. However, as noted, there’s still over a month before the awards are given, so some might be available to stream soon. We will update this list as the information becomes available.
Meanwhile, you can rent most of the following films, and some can still be seen in theaters: American Fiction; Anatomy of a Fall; The Color Purple; Oppenheimer; Past Lives; Poor Things; The Zone of Interest; Io Capitano; Perfect Days; The Teachers’ Lounge; The Boy and the Heron; Robot Dreams; Godzilla Minus One; Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One; Napoleon; 20 Days in Mariupol; Four Daughters; To Kill a Tiger; Letter to a Pig; Ninety-Five Senses; Our Uniform; Pachyderm; War is Over! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko; Invincible; Knight of Fortune; Red, White and Blue; The Barber of Little Rock; Island in Between; and Nǎi Nai & Wài Pó.
