Between standard summertime programming and the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, we’re bound to have some stellar reality shows to binge. From love to competition to drama, there’s something for everyone in this summer’s reality show lineup.
90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days
Relationships are hard enough as it is but 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days shows us how much more challenging they can be with language barrier, distance, grief, and cultural differences. With seven new couples and one returning couple, we get a peek into the world of international online dating and the drama that comes along with trying to forge a bond remotely.
This season’s couples are full of heart with some gut-wrenching stories. While some couples struggle with the emotions of the loss of a spouse, others battle physical connection issues in the bedroom. You can expect to see some romantics just trying to find love with a healthy dose of the drama expected across all of the 90 Day franchises. This show premiered June 4, so there’s still plenty of time to jump on the love train!
Project Runway
Some of Project Runway’s most beloved designers are back for more! In a departure from previous seasons, this all-star season is falling under the original iteration of the show as its 20th season. These returning designers are some of the best and brightest, many of them having competed in a previous season of Project Runway All Stars.
This season has already showcased some amazing challenges, including reinventing the look that got the designer eliminated previously and the incredibly challenging unconventional materials challenge. With a season presenting incredible guest judges, designers, and themes, we can’t wait to see who takes home the crown.
Love Island USA
The true sign of summer is finally here. No, not the summer solstice – Love Island USA is back for another season! The Islanders are ready to get to coupling (and recoupling) for a shot at the cash prize. We can’t wait to see who will be gracing our screens this time around.
We don’t know much about the new season yet. The trailer shows us a lot of the tongue-in-cheek humor we know and love, but not many specifics about what to expect this season. We know that host Sarah Hyland will return and that the show will air six days a week. Otherwise, it’s a mystery! Tune in on July 18 to make your summer even hotter.
The Challenge: USA
If you’re looking for a show that pits some of the most competitive reality stars against each other to win the ultimate prize, look no further than The Challenge: USA. This show takes contestants from other reality show franchises and has them compete in daily challenges and eliminations. Challenges include hard physical components and brain teasers that would test even the brightest.
There is still a lot of uncertainty around this season of The Challenge: USA. While we don’t know who will be competing, a press release from CBS stated that favorites from other CBS reality shows, including Survivor, Big Brother, and The Amazing Race, will be competing. Whether or not the format is the same as last season, we’re expecting grueling challenges, stiff competition, and unparalleled fun when this show airs in August.
