These Old Favorite Dramas Are Trending Now

It’s fun and exciting to binge a new series, but there’s something irreplacably comforting about streaming an old favorite. The feeling can be further compounded by rewatching it at the same time as the rest of the internet.

For reasons unbeknownst to us, these four old favorite dramas are currently trending, and with a lull in new content due to the time of year and anticipation for new returns in the coming months thanks to the ends of the writers’ and actors’ strikes, there’s no better time to indulge in something you haven’t seen in ages.

Twin Peaks

The Kyle MacLachlan-led series Twin Peaks only ran for two seasons, but it’s still widely considered one of the best TV series of all time. MacLachlan went on to lead a steady career in television after its end, but the Twin Peaks fanbase remained so rabid afterward that the series garnered a reboot in 2017. While the reboot isn’t available to stream, the two original seasons are, and they’re trending right now.

The West Wing

An old favorite for many and the blueprint of political dramas for some, The West Wing will be popular on streaming as long as it’s available. With a clear gap in strong political drama programming as of late (many might argue that the actual political landscape is more dramatic than a TV show could ever be), streamers are returning to an old favorite to satisfy that specific itch.

Six Feet Under

Another show that’s been heralded for its quality for almost two decades now, Six Feet Under was part of what some might consider to be HBO’s golden age. The show, which originally aired during the same era as The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Deadwood, and The Wire, has always been available to watch on the cable channel’s streaming platform, but more audiences have been eating it up recently.

Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is always popular when it’s available to stream, but it’s not always available to stream. The Bryan Cranston-Aaron Paul crime drama returned to Netflix earlier this fall, and its reappearance has clearly made several fans happy. It’s also given streamers unfamiliar with the series a chance to watch it. Once you’re finished bingeing Breaking Bad, stay on Netflix to stream its spin-off, Better Call Saul
