After a disastrous Season 13 that ended without a RHONY reunion – a true rarity among all Real Housewives franchises – Bravo announced it’d be rebooting The Real Housewives of New York City, one of the oldest and most popular franchises, with an entirely new cast.
A New Era for RHONY
Out were the OG’s, and in were newbies Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield, the six of whom were announced as the new cast at 2022’s BravoCon. Fans were overwhelmingly pleasantly surprised by the reboot, with online discourse suggesting it was the best thing Bravo could have done for RHONY.
A Good Compromise for Longtime RHONY Fans
Amid the positivity, however, there exists a group who miss the RHONY OG’s. When the reboot was announced, Bravo also shared that there would be a legacy show of sorts airing alongside the reboot comprised of the old cast members. The legacy show turned into a season of The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, a Peacock original that takes current and bygone cast members of different cities within the Real Housewives universe on a trip.
So far, the series has visited Turks and Caicos, Blue Stone Manor, and Thailand, and former RHONY cast members who’ve been part of various seasons include Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, and Dorinda Medley. Singer, de Lesseps, and Medley will be joined by Sonja Morgan, Kristen Taekman, and Kelly Bensimon for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy, which will take place in St. Barts and is set to air on Peacock in December.

The first teaser for the show dropped this week, and it excited longtime fans of the franchise by including each woman’s most iconic line from her time on the original show. Singer is heard saying, “Turtle time.” Bensimon asks her famous question from the Scary Island episode: “Does anyone want a jelly bean?”. Morgan says, “I live for the walk of shame.” De Lesseps reminds everyone to “Be cool. Don’t be all, like, uncool.” “I do have issues with your issues,” Taekman says, and the promo ends with Medley crying, “I made it nice!”
While an official trailer is still forthcoming, the teaser was enough to wet even the thirstiest fan’s whistle. Bensimon has said this trip was nothing like Scary Island, but if history tells us anything, it’s going to be one entertaining girls trip.
The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip is streaming now on Peacock.
