And Just Like That… graced our screens with some huge cultural conversations in December 2021. From the death of Carrie’s big love (no pun intended) to the introduction of a new Miranda love interest that brought out strong feelings in viewers, season 1 set the bar high. With big shoes to fill, here’s what we know about season 2 so far.
Picking Up Where We Left Off
Season one focused heavily on Carrie’s grieving process. Losing Big to a heart attack after all they had been through was, understandably, devastating. But it looks like our girl is on the upswing after finding closure on the bridge in Paris. Carrie claims to be having meaningless, “exit-out-of-grief” sex with Franklyn, but it’s likely feelings will start to make an appearance with those hookups. Overall, Carrie is finding great success with her podcast and really settling into her new life being a single, successful woman.
Charlotte is continuing to navigate her life as a mom to teenagers. Even after letting go at the end of last season, there will be some jaw-dropping moments coming up this season as we see her daughter proclaiming that she’s ready to lose her virginity and learn of the existence of a school-wide “MILF list” that the moms want to get their hands on.
Miranda isn’t highlighted a ton in the trailer, leaving great mystery for her upcoming storylines. She looks to be continuing to explore her relationship with Che and sets the scene for some big changes for them both.
Friends New and Old
As we mentioned, Che Diaz is returning for another season. This polarizing character has split the Miranda fanbase, with half struggling to follow her departure from what we expect from her and half excited for her opportunity to find the version of happiness that is best for her. Regardless of how you feel about her, it looks like Che and Miranda are going strong and ready to overcome any new obstacles.
While last season led us to believe that Carrie and Samantha may have had their reunion, there’s no sign of her in this trailer. While sources have shared that Samantha will make a cameo, we have yet to see the level of involvement with the rest of the cast. Whether a phone call or a multi-episode storyline, all will feel right in the And Just Like That… universe with a little more Samantha.
An Old Flame Returns
Just as Carrie is talking about how some things are meant to be left in the past, we’re hit with an unexpected twist: Aiden is back. Carrie’s ex-fiance makes an appearance, leaving our heads spinning with what happened between the last we heard of him and now. Is Aiden still married to furniture designer Kathy? Has enough time passed that Aiden can get over his inability to trust just like Carrie got over her inability to commit? Is the third time the charm? We can’t wait to see how Aiden’s appearance impacts Carrie’s fling with Franklyn or, even better, how her friends react to the news that some things just aren’t able to stay in the past.
