The Best Animated Children’s Shows to Watch on Netflix This September

Animated children's show 'Tom and Jerry Tales'
Animated children's show 'Tom and Jerry Tales'

It’s hard enough to find a show to watch as an adult. Trying to find quality and appropriate shows for children can be an even tougher task. Trust us that each of these Netflix animated children’s shows is high-quality and appropriate for all ages.

Pokémon Master Journeys

Join Ash, Goh, and all your favorite Pokémon on an epic adventure in Pokémon Master Journeys. Like it’s done with so many other classic favorites, Netflix has taken Pokémon and revamped it so new generations can watch it and fall in love. If you enjoyed Pokémon as a child, pass the torch to your own kids with Pokémon Master Journeys. There are only 12 episodes, so it won’t take long to binge together.

Masha and the Bear

A darling computer-animated Russian show, Masha and the Bear will captivate you and your child. Masha is a young girl who befriends a retired circus performer, Bear, and the two regularly get into antics, much to Bear’s dismay. The relationship the two cultivate is sweet, and the dubbing isn’t … horrible (there’s not much dubbing, though, so it can be forgiven). Masha and the Bear will be one of those shows you suggest your child watches so that you don’t get saddled with turning on something completely mind-numbing.

Tom and Jerry Tales

Another example of a classic show getting revamped for a new generation, Tom and Jerry Tales is over 10 years old now, but it’s still worth a watch. One of the most well-known animated series of all time has been rebooted time and again, but Tom and Jerry Tales did a particularly good job. The animation was clearly an upgrade from the original, but it was close enough to the original that it’ll still have you feeling like you’re watching the series from when you were a child. The loveable frenemies are still at odds in this cute 26-episode series.

Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse

If you fear Barbie is too mature for your kids, show them Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse. This animated series follows Barbie, Ken, and a variety of her other friends through everyday life at the pinkest mansion in Malibu. Life in the Dreamhouse is much wittier than other Barbie projects, and the characters give comical confessionals a la Real Housewives, making it feel more like an animated reality show of your child’s dolls than a series meant for children. But don’t worry – it’s totally kid-appropriate.

Each of these animated children’s shows is streaming now on Netflix.
