Morgan Freeman in 'Se7en,' streaming now on Hulu

If you’re anything like us, most of the time when you open your streaming apps, you scroll through and you’ve already seen everything you wanted to see and it becomes a search to find anything worth a watch. Fortunately, it’s a new month and Hulu is adding a slew of great films that you might not have seen yet. Here are some of the best movies for you to check out this month on Hulu.

Miguel Wants to Fight

Miguel Wants to Fight is a pretty new Hulu original film, so chances are you haven’t seen it yet. We’re delighted to say this is a really charming coming-of-age comedy about family, friendship, and loyalty. It’s a great easy watch if you don’t want anything too complicated to entertain you.

The Banshees of Inisherin

If you’ve seen any of the other movies from filmmaker Martin McDonagh, such as Seven Psychopaths or Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, you already know what to expect here. If you haven’t, be aware that this is a dramedy like no other you’ve ever seen. It’s funny, heartwarming, certainly a bit shocking, and carried by incredible performances from Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. The Banshees of Inisherin received a lot of love from critics, awards ceremonies, and viewers alike, so it’s one of the rare films with both exceptional critical claim and audience love.

A Knight’s Tale

It’s 2001. Heath Ledger is a name that’s equated with the pretty boy who gets cast in all the romcoms. Brokeback Mountain and The Dark Knight don’t exist yet, but anyone with a discerning eye would watch the criminally underrated A Knight’s Tale and see that Ledger had potential. This movie is funny, romantic, action-packed, and heartwarming. Also of note – before Paul Bettany was everyone’s favorite AI superhero, he was here playing the legendary writer Geoffrey Chaucer and absolutely smashing the role as the highlight of a film full of highlights.

The Menu

When it came out in 2022, The Menu garnered high praise from nearly everyone who watched it, so chances are you’re familiar with this one. If you ignored it, we’re here to advocate for this food movie that’s about a whole lot more than food. The film has spawned countless theories about the symbolism contained within and what it means about the story inside of the story. In other words, this is a movie that’s enjoyable on the surface, carried by standout performances from Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes, but if you like digging deeper, it offers plenty of opportunity for that, too.

Se7en

If you haven’t seen Se7en … why? This is the kind of movie that happens when everyone involved is firing on all cylinders. Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman are chewing the scenery, and director David Fincher makes it clear why we’ve eagerly anticipated anything he wishes to make since. Se7en is the peak of ’90s thrillers. Don’t miss it … or at least stop missing it, because you’re really behind.

Each of these movies is streaming now on Hulu.
