Ronald Gladden rose to viral fame after being duped into believing he was the head juror in a case high-profile enough to warrant sequestering. The entire prank was filmed for the comedy show Jury Duty which aired on Prime Video’s free platform Freevee. Now, Gladden is going to work with Amazon again (this time knowingly) after signing a new deal with the company.
Per the terms of his two-year deal with Amazon MGM Studios, Gladden will produce, develop, and star in various projects that have yet to be announced. As of this writing, Gladden’s only credits on IMDb are for his work on Jury Duty and television appearances promoting the series. Gladden expressed his excitement for the new venture, noting how Jury Duty acted as the springboard for this step in his career.
Jury Duty, starring James Marsden, Alan Barinholtz, and a variety of other unknown actors, mostly from the improv space, was a critical and audience hit in April 2023. It followed Gladden, Marsden, and others during their time as a jury in Southern California with everyone except Gladden aware that the entire case was made up.
In addition to its acclaim and notable streaming numbers, Jury Duty received four Primetime Emmy nominations in 2023, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Marsden. Jury Duty is streaming now on Freevee.
