The first full week of December brought with it a slew of streaming updates from Prime Video. From trailers and teasers to series renewals, here’s what the Amazon streaming platform shared with the internet this week.
Trailers, Teasers, and Renewals
On December 5, Prime Video released the trailer for its upcoming documentary James May: Our Man in India. This three-episode docuseries will be available to stream on Prime Video on January 5, 2024. The platform also teased season two of Drag Den with Manila Luzon by announcing its cast. The series is slated to return to the United States on January 18, 2024, with new episodes airing weekly.
Perhaps the most anticipated teaser that Prime Video dropped is the Mr. & Mrs. Smith teaser trailer. Based on the 2005 film of the same name starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, the upcoming comedy spy series starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine is set to premiere on the platform on February 2, 2024.
Additionally, multiple platform series have been renewed. The heist-drama Leverage: Redemption will return for a third season, as will the comedy series Harlem.
Prime Video to Produce ‘Cruel Intentions’ Series
The streaming giant also announced this week that it has ordered a new series called Cruel Intentions, a drama based on the film of the same name starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillipe, Reese Witherspoon, and Selma Blair. The series will feature actors from multiple streaming series, such as Firefly Lane, The Last Thing He Told Me, and Gossip Girl (2021).
