New casting information regarding the HBO hit The White Lotus has been revealed: per Deadline, actors Parker Posey, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Jason Isaacs, Tayme Thapthimthong, and Dom Hetrakul are slated to join the cast for Season 3 of the series.
Old Faces Returning to ‘The White Lotus’
Season 2 of The White Lotus saw the return of Jennifer Coolidge, and Season 3 will bring another familiar face, Coolidge’s character’s friend from Season 1, Natasha Rothwell. Rothwell and the aforementioned new actors will reportedly begin filming Season 3 in Thailand in February. While Seasons 1 and 2 examined themes of privilege and relationships, respectively, Season 3 will focus on “death in Eastern religion and spirituality,” per creator, writer, and director Mike White.
“It’s going to be a supersized White Lotus. It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing,” White told Deadline.
Season 3 Premiere Pushed Back
Due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes of 2023, the premiere of Season 3 of The White Lotus has been pushed back from a tentative 2024 to a likely 2025. Production on new seasons of the HBO shows Euphoria and The Last of Us, among others, have been affected by the strikes, as well.
