You might not be aware, but Netflix has been hosting an event that they’ve cleverly titled TUDUM (in reference to the sound that plays when you open the app) for three years now in an effort to keep subscribers excited about all of the fresh content they’ll be releasing over the next few months. The newest event just happened in Sao Paolo, Brazil, and it certainly gave us plenty to anticipate. Here are some of the upcoming Netflix offerings that we’re most looking forward to.
Squid Game Season 2
Yep, the twisted Korean thriller Squid Game is coming back for a Season 2. Do we know what to expect? Nope, but we’re excited anyway.
You Season 5
If you somehow missed the last four seasons of You, it’s time to catch up. Revel in the charisma of Penn Badgley as he does the impossible by making you fall in love with a psychopath. Sure, many were disappointed by Season 4, but it’s too late to turn back now. There’s no way we’re missing the conclusion to Joe Goldberg’s story.
Berlin
The Spanish crime drama Money Heist took over Netflix in such a big way that it’s spawned multiple spin-offs, including a Korean reimagining. If Berlin maintains the quality of the original series, we’ll be excited to watch it.
3 Body Problem
This upcoming series is based on a highly popular series of Chinese science fiction novels. Why is our interest piqued? Well, the showrunners are the infamous Weiss & Benioff, whom you might remember as the guys who ruined Game of Thrones. But they also did a pretty good job until they ran out of source material, right? The good news is, the source material of this series is complete. Maybe they can create magic again with 3 Body Problem, and hopefully, they’ll stick the landing this time.
The Witcher Season 3
Who doesn’t want to see more Henry Cavill? Season 3 of The Witcher is guaranteed to provide that. He won’t be in Season 4 since he’s exited the show for the upcoming season, but let’s enjoy it while it lasts, shall we?
They Cloned Tyrone
They Cloned Tyrone is a film that’s being described as a “pulpy sci-fi mystery caper” and it stars Jamie Foxx, Teyonah Paris, and John Boyega. Between the premise and the cast, consider us intrigued.
Avatar: The Last Airbender
In case you didn’t know, Netflix is turning your favorite animated TV series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, into a live-action show. Do we think it will be good? Well, the Netflix track record with similar projects is debatable, but we’re cautiously optimistic anyway.
Wednesday Season 2
More Tim Burton, more Jenna Ortega, more creepy fun mysteries. We’re definitely not the only ones excited for Wednesday Season 2.
Rebel Moon
Rebel Moon is an original sci-fi movie by 300, Watchmen, and Justice League director Zack Snyder. He doesn’t always hit, but when he does, it’s stylish and glorious. We’re looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.
One Piece
One Piece is one of the most popular anime series of all time and one of the longest-running. Yep, they’re giving this one the live-action treatment, too. Surprisingly, the trailer doesn’t look too bad. We’re looking forward to seeing a new version of Luffy and friends on their exciting pirate adventures.
