February to be a Major Month for Prime Video

Prime Video app

February will be a big month for Prime Video. The streaming platform, fresh off its six Emmy wins, is prepared to drop multiple new pieces of content throughout the month of love. With comedy, sports, romance, and action all set to make an appearance, the streamer will offer something new for everyone next month.

New Comedy Special Coming to Prime Video

Prime Video is adding to its roster of comedy specials. The platform already hosts recordings of live comedy specials from big names like Nate Bargatze and Iliza Shlesinger, and on February 23, another comedian will join the ranks: Jenny Slate. Slate, known for her voice-over work and her roles in projects such as Obvious Child and Parks and Recreation, wrote and executive produced her upcoming special, Jenny Slate: Seasoned Professional

This is only Slate’s second stand-up comedy special to hit streaming. Her first, Jenny Slate: Stage Fright, is streaming now on Netflix.

New Sports Content

Prime Video is also continuing to expand its sports offerings. The platform announced near the end of 2023 that it had struck a new partnership with NASCAR for some exclusive broadcasting rights and a deal with Premier Boxing Champions for more pay-per-view fights, the first of which is expected to come in March.

On February 19, the platform will add a sports documentary to its content library. Giannis: The Marvelous Journey tells the story of Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Greek NBA player who climbed his way out of childhood poverty to become one of the most successful athletes of modern times.

Movies and More

For those who are constantly on the lookout for a new rom-com, Prime Video is reentering the chat on February 13 (just in time for Valentine’s Day) with Five Blind Dates. The film was co-written by and stars Shuang Hu, an actress and influencer whose most notable work to date is the comedy series The Family Law, which is streaming now on Netflix. Prime Video recently released the official trailer for Five Blind Dates

February will also finally bring the long-awaited Mr. & Mrs. Smith series adaptation starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine. An official trailer and key art have both been released for the action-comedy series, which will drop on the platform on Groundhog Day.
