Disney+ is both a haven for childhood favorites and a source of new must-see titles. The streaming service has options for every member of your family, and no matter what your kids are into, they’ll be able to find something that engages them. Here are just a few options to keep your kids entertained a bit longer until they go back to school.
High School Musical
With a new season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series premiering this month, there’s no better time than now to check out where the franchise started. The movie that made Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens famous, no Disney Channel original movie is as universally known or loved – and for good reason. The music is as good as any musical written for Broadway, and High School Musical has a great message for children.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Chris Pratt became far better known for his movie career than his television career thanks to roles in a few key franchises, and that includes Guardians of the Galaxy. This trilogy ended after several years at the top of the zeitgeist, and its final installment, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, is available to stream now on Disney+. Find out how it all ends with a movie night option suitable for all ages.
Sharkcano: Hawaii
Just can’t get enough of Shark Week? If you and your kids are equally obsessed with the phenomenon (that is still happening, by the way), but you want an option that won’t make them totally scared to get in the water on your next beach vacation, check out Sharkcano: Hawaii. And if they do get a little nervous, just remind them that the documentary you watched earlier this year takes place in Hawaii, and there is no reason to be scared while you’re on vacation at [insert destination here].
The Parent Trap
Lindsay Lohan was at her best in three films: Mean Girls, Freaky Friday, and The Parent Trap. The last of those films is a classic for a reason. If you’ve been watching it since you were a kid, you know that it never gets old. And if you’ve since introduced it to your own kids, you know that today’s youth love it just as much as any ‘80s or ‘90s baby. Whether a new or old favorite, it’s perfect to watch during the summer.
Each of these movies is streaming now on Disney+.
