Trust us, we get the hype around Suits, but trust us again when we say there are dozens of other legal dramas worth checking out, too. If you’ve finished your Suits binge and are looking for another one to satisfy that specific itch, check out these four legal dramas, all of which are streaming now on various platforms.
The Good Wife
Juliana Margulies stars as Alicia Florrick in The Good Wife. After her husband (Chris Noth) goes to jail for corrupt behavior as state’s attorney, Alicia is forced to return to work as an attorney to provide for her family. Marguiles is fantastic in the role, and with other great dramatic silver screen actors like Christine Baranski, Matt Czuchry, Josh Charles, Archie Panjabi, and Alan Cumming, The Good Wife is about as good as a legal drama gets.
The Good Wife is streaming now on Paramount+.
The West Wing
Long before there was Scandal there was The West Wing. The Aaron Sorkin creation racked up 26 Primetime Emmy Awards during its seven-season run, and it’s still got one of the best casts of any television show in history. With powerhouses like Martin Sheen, Rob Lowe, Allison Janney, John Spencer, Bradley Whitford, and more, it was nearly impossible for this show not to succeed. Thanks to good writing and powerful performances from more than just the main characters, The West Wing lives on as one of the best legal dramas ever.
The West Wing is streaming now on Max.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, one of the many spinoffs of Law & Order, has been on the air since 1999 (and it actually has more seasons and episodes than its origin). Bingeing this show from start to finish probably isn’t necessary (that is, of course, unless you want to dedicate a year of your life to watching a single television show), but it’s worth watching at least a few episodes just so you have a frame of reference.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is streaming now on Hulu.
Your Honor
Not every good legal drama has been on for over two decades – some only have two seasons. If Law & Order: SVU is too daunting, check out something that will take far less time to binge, like Your Honor. The Bryan Cranston-led legal drama about a judge and his family has since been canceled, but that doesn’t make it any less worthy of your attention.
Your Honor is streaming now on Paramount+.
