4 Children’s Series to Stream on Hulu in October

Bailee Madison in the children's show 'The Hardy Boys'

With the days getting shorter and cooler, it’s the perfect time to pull out the best blankets and cuddle up with your favorite kiddos. With Hulu’s selection of children’s classics and new favorites, you’ll find something that the whole family can enjoy together.

Animaniacs

Your favorite wild Warner Siblings are back at it again! Animaniacs, a reboot of the original series, follows Yakko, Wakko, and Dot as they adventure through life through episodes that include multiple short segments that star the siblings or other supporting characters. Yakko’s chatty nature, Wakko’s physical comedy, and Dot’s laid-back approach are brought back to life with silly songs, amusing situations, and hilarious takes on everyday happenings.

One of the best parts of this show is the way the humor appeals to adults and kids alike. After a 22-year hiatus, the silly slapstick humor will still appeal to kids while meta jokes will land with parents watching the show. For fans who are coming back to the show after many years off the air, you’ll enjoy the same multi-sketch structure that brings back old favorites, like Pinky and the Brain, as well as new shorts that still capture the silly essence of the show.

The Hardy Boys

The Hardy Boys is the perfect show for families that love a good mystery. After tragedy forces the family to move to the small town of Bridgeport, the boys realize their father has taken on a secret new case. Rather than let him solve it on his own, they band together with friends to start their own investigation.

This show combines the drama of a teen murder mystery with the white-knuckle fear of a supernatural thriller. Don’t worry if you’re a fan of the Hardy Boys books – this show takes on an entirely new mystery from anything covered before. The ongoing suspense and realistic portrayal of high schoolers are great for families with older kids looking for a new favorite.

The Powerpuff Girls

Rather than wait to have a family in a more traditional way, Professor Utonium used sugar, spice, everything nice, and Chemical X to create three superpowered little girls to call his own. The Powerpuff Girls Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are then called upon by their town to fight crime and solve problems, some of which are unintentionally caused by the girls.

The voice actors may be different, but this reboot still dishes up the girl power we know and love. The sisters still have their same signature personalities, and we even get to see many of the monsters that terrorized the town in the original 1998 series.

Holly Hobbie

Based on the famed character of the same name, Holly Hobbie follows 13-year-old singer-songwriter Holly Hobbie as she uses her talents to help her friends and family. In addition to the standard teenage troubles, like dating and friendship, Holly also faces more serious issues like financial struggles and health concerns.

This incredibly wholesome series is a great pick for a teen show that still teaches important life lessons, like how to have hard conversations with people you love and how to be brave in the face of uncertainty. The cast has a great dynamic that tells a relatable story for those currently going through it and those reminiscing about their teenage years.

Each of these children’s shows is streaming now on Hulu.
