September is a tricky month for streaming. Half of the watchers are ready to indulge in spooky features while the other half are begging everyone to wait until October to dive in. And the same goes for children’s shows. If you’re not quite ready to fully immerse your household in all things Halloween, stave off the onslaught of dark titles with some fun animated features. You can stream each of these on Netflix this month.
Sing 2
The Sing series is one of the best children’s series in recent times. The sequel, Sing 2, was released in late 2022, and it features all the stars you know and love from the first film, along with some epic additions, namely Bono, who lends his famed voice to the character Clay Calloway. Both you and your kids are going to appreciate this movie, especially if you enjoyed the first.
Trolls
Another animated film with a star-studded cast, Trolls has taken the world by storm a la Despicable Me. With the third installment set to release later this year, now is the perfect time to see where it all began. And when your kids inevitably ask to rewatch it for the hundredth time, you can kindly suggest watching Trolls Holiday or Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, the short and TV series spin-offs, respectively, both of which are also streaming now on Netflix.
Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
Though it was only recently added to Netflix, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit was released in 2005, and it was criminally under-appreciated. The film is one in a series of Wallace and Gromit stop-motion animated films, and it was the reignition to the series after a 10-year hiatus after the release of the third. The series also produced the Shaun the Sheep series, and three of those titles are on the streaming platform, too. If you enjoy stop-motion, there’s plenty of content to devour this September.
Home
You might not naturally pair Jim Parsons and Rihanna, but the casting director of Home knew something we didn’t and ended up with an unexpectedly entertaining pair. Also featuring the talents of Steve Martin and Jennifer Lopez, Home is touching and exciting, and it’s got a spin-off series on the platform called Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh for those who just can’t get enough of these loveable characters.
Each of these animated films is streaming now on Netflix.
