3 New Apple TV+ Comedies Renewed for Second Seasons

Apple TV+ comedies are among the most popular in the streaming sector of the genre. 2023 brought us multiple new offerings, and three of them have been renewed for second seasons.

‘Platonic’

This Rose Byrne- and Seth Rogen-led comedy series debuted to critical acclaim and solid audience response. With popular, humorous leads and the necessary message that it is possible for men and women to maintain a platonic friendship, it’s no surprise Platonic was successful and renewed for a second season.

‘The Big Door Prize’

Familiar leads took a unique approach to comedy in The Big Door Prize. With sci-fi and dramatic aspects included, this series excelled where a similar Apple TV+ series, Hello Tomorrow!, struggled. No date has been set, but Season 2 is expected to return in 2024.

‘Shrinking’

From a good chunk of the people who gave us Ted Lasso, the best of new Apple TV+ comedies in 2023 was undoubtedly Shrinking. A sweet, funny reminder that none of us really have it all together, it would’ve been an unforgivable sin had Apple TV+ neglected to renew this series. We hope the writers’ strike didn’t delay this show’s Season 2 premiere too much.

Each of these comedies is streaming now on Apple TV+.
