Netflix is capitalizing on streamers’ love for reality TV programming by ordering new seasons of two of its most popular titles: Love Is Blind and Squid Game: The Challenge.
‘Love Is Blind’
Multiple updates came regarding Love Is Blind. The show, which is hosted by the real-life couple Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey, has been renewed for a sixth and seventh season. Its sixth season will fittingly hit the streaming service on February 14, 2024.
Love Is Blind is a dating show in which singles decide who they want to marry without seeing what the person looks like. The intriguing premise has proven to be successful for Netflix, garnering high streaming numbers and five Primetime Emmy nominations. The dating process has also been successful as multiple couples from the show are still together.
‘Squid Game: The Challenge’
Squid Game: The Challenge, a reality show based on the highly popular K-drama Squid Game, has been renewed for a second season. “There was no red light in our decision to greenlight season two of Squid Game: The Challenge, the most ambitious unscripted show we’ve premiered at Netflix,” Brandon Riegg, Netflix VP of Nonfiction Series, said of the order in a press release. A release date for Season 2 has yet to be announced.
