Stream These Other Cult Docs After ‘Escaping Twin Flames’

Still from 'Escaping Twin Flames'
Still from 'Escaping Twin Flames'

Escaping Twin Flames has captivated Netflix users with its look at the Twins Flame Universe cult, its leaders, and its members. If the only cult you’d like to belong to is the one dedicated to bingeing documentaries examining the phenomenon, check out these other four once you’ve finished Escaping Twin Flames

‘Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God’

If you watched Escaping Twin Flames and thought there couldn’t possibly be another modern cult, you are incorrect. Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God is about Amy Carlson, a woman who went from working at McDonald’s to starting the Love Has Won cult and calling herself Mother God. It’s as interesting as it sounds.

Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God is streaming now on Max.

‘Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey’

You’ve likely heard stories about Warren Jeffs, the leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS), a fundamentalist sect of the Mormon church. Jeffs is currently serving time in prison for sex crimes, but before he received a life sentence, he had dozens of wives, many of whom were underage, and a shocking influence on the FLDS members. Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey shows how Jeffs became so powerful and what led to his ultimate conviction.

Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey is streaming now on Netflix.

‘Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator’

If you’ve ever practiced Bikram yoga, you should watch Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator. If you’ve never heard of Bikram yoga, you should watch Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator. This documentary tells the story of Bikram Choudhury, the man who developed the eponymous yoga system and has been accused of sexual misconduct. Bikram yoga isn’t a cult per se, but it has characteristics of one, making the documentary an interesting look at how a dynamic presence can be so influential. It’s absolutely worth the quick watch.

Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator is streaming now on Netflix.

‘The Vow’

Not to be confused with the 2012 movie of the same name (that stars Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum, and it has nothing to do with cults), The Vow examines NXIVM, one of the most famous and fascinating cults of modern times. We know that actors like Allison Mack (Smallville) and Catherine Oxenberg (Dynasty) were involved with NXIVM, but the details of the organization are far more shocking than celebrities being part of a sex cult. With two seasons full of wild information, you’ll get your fill of cult documentaries with this one.

The Vow is streaming now on Max.
