To be prepared for tomorrow, you’ll want to have watched as many Emmy-nominated shows as possible. If you have a few more on your list, or you want to watch at least one before the awards are handed out, there’s still time. Each of these Emmy-nominated series can be binged in a day, and they’re all well worth your time.
‘Beef’
The Steven Yeun- and Ali Wong-led dark comedy miniseries Beef dropped in 2023 to critical acclaim and lots of internet buzz. Of the Emmys that have already been awarded (only a portion of the awards are given on a televised stage), Beef has taken home three, and if the Golden Globes are any indication, the series might take home a couple more tomorrow. With just under six hours of total screen time, the series can easily be binged in one day.
Beef is streaming now on Netflix.
‘The Bear’
Like Beef, The Bear has already picked up some Emmy Awards ahead of tomorrow night’s televised ceremony. Episodes of The Bear hover around 30 minutes with just a few exceptions, making both seasons watchable in just one day. But if you’re short on time, prioritize the first season, as that’s what’s nominated for this awards season.
The Bear is streaming now on Hulu.
‘Jury Duty’
Jury Duty might be the most surprising of the Emmy-nominated series this year. James Marsden received an acting nod for playing himself, and the series was nominated against another on this list for Outstanding Comedy Series. Although you do have to suffer through ads, episodes are short, so you can dedicate an afternoon to knocking this series out.
Jury Duty is streaming now on Freevee.
‘The Last of Us’
The Last of Us already has eight Primetime Emmy Awards to its name (which is unsurprising considering how many nominations it received), but there are still quite a few that it’s up for tomorrow. Of all the Emmy-nominated series on this list, The Last of Us will take the longest to watch (unless you watch both seasons of The Bear), but you’ll be happy you took the time.
The Last of Us is streaming now on Max.
